Title: Book Review: Robert Reich's Supercapitalism
Date: 03-Feb-2008
Source/Author: Stephen B. Young
Description: Two of our very active CRT participants asked me to read Robert Reich's recent book "Supercapitalism" and consider his arguments against corporate social responsibility. I have done so as requested and here in Bangkok, where I am teaching corporate social responsibility for the SASIN Graduate School at Chulalongkorn University, it seemed timely to review and critique his approach to what he sees as wrong with the contemporary American business and political order.

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

Two of our very active CRT participants asked me to read Robert Reich's recent book "Supercapitalism" and consider his arguments against corporate social responsibility. I have done so as requested and here in Bangkok, where I am teaching corporate social responsibility for the SASIN Graduate School at Chulalongkorn University, it seemed timely to review and critique his approach to what he sees as wrong with the contemporary American business and political order.

I attach my thoughts for your review and comment. I would be grateful to have your response to both Reich's passionately written essay and my response to some of his key points.

Sincerely yours,

Stephen B. Young
