Title: Caux Round Table Values Workshop with Thai Airways International

Caux Round Table Thailand recently completed a very successful leadership workshop in Bangkok for the top managers of Thai Airways International. The CRT proprietary assessment process of Arcturus was customized for four new core values of the company – trust, hospitality, accountability and integrity. The Arcturus assessment, as made by the company’s top managers, indicated a number of areas where substantial challenges lie ahead in improving the company’s stakeholder relationships and in aligning outcomes with the four core values.

Thai Airways, a company with majority ownership by the Thai Government, was once considered a member of the small club of the best airlines in the world. The new CEO of the airline wants the company to once again attain such distinction for quality service. He is convinced that only with the right core values can significant and long-lasting entrepreneurial achievement be attained.

He asked for consulting assistance from Caux Round Table Thailand, under the able direction of Khun Nick Pisalyaput. Khun Nick assembled a team of professionals with support from the SASIN Graduate Institute of Business Administration and Thammasat University so that global approaches could be presented in a fulsome Thai context.

The CRT’s Global Executive Director, Steve Young, attended the final two days of the leadership workshop and summarized the CRT vision of how values can lead to value for a company. The warm response from senior Thai Airways managers to the CRT approach was reassuring that values can indeed be integrated into frameworks for successful business achievements.
