Our colleague at the Vatican, His Eminence Cardinal Silvano Tomasi, who has given decisive leadership to our study of the Prophet Muhammad to respect and protect Christians and Jews, helped organize a meeting of the Global Nobel Laureates Assembly in Rome to consider the responsibilities of government in minimizing the dysfunctional harms associated with AI and terminating the threat to humanity of nuclear weapons.
The statement that came out of the meeting aligns with the Caux Round Table’s Principles for Government that government derives its legitimacy from meeting its duties of being entrusted with public power for the good of the community.
